Identity, power, security; Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia

The factors that cause long-standing controversy in relations between the two countries can be divided into two levels of structural and behavioral factors. Most studies in the study of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia have pointed to one of three factors of identity, power and security, but there are still questions that, at different times and conditions, is Iran's foreign policy towards Saudi Arabia more influenced by ideological factors, or has its relations with Saudi Arabia been influenced by geostrategic considerations (power and security)? Or an approach that includes all three factors? In this case, how did the nature and relationship of these three factors in shaping Iran's foreign policy toward Saudi Arabia over time and in different situations has continued and continued? To answer these questions, using the theoretical model of the article, the degree of influence, the order of priority and the relationship between the three factors determining identity, power and security in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran toward Saudi Arabia at different times and conditions with respect to two Decisive factor: The international position of the country and choice of decision makers are explained.
