Abstract:
In this study, considering a limited rectangle affected by Manjil Earthquake, 1990 (Ms=7/7), whose inventory is available, the studies of earthquake-induced landslides risk analysis have been carried out by deterministic and probabilistic approaches.
In deterministic approach, using Newmark displacement analysis and considering effective parameters in sliding permanently, a map showing of earthquake-induced landslides hazard in the study area has been prepared and compared with the inventory.
In the next stage, to consider the effect of uncertainty caused by deterministic parameters, using probabilistic distribution functions and Monte Carlo simulation a probabilistic approach has been introduced. In this method, uncertainties originated by geotechnical parameters (friction angle and cohesion) and slope saturating effect have been assessed. In this case some codes in MATLAB environment have been written and used.
