Feasibility study of the energy waves conversion by Mighty whale device in Caspian Sea

Abstract:
Mighty whale is a floating wave power device that designing is wave base. This device convert wave power to electricity with some turbines and generators. Prosperity of costal environment due to installing it into cost. It be moored by chains in to keeping from excessive movements. First prototype of Mighty whale had been designed commissioned from 1998 to 2000 by Japan and the total generated of 83.65 MW or 6.37 kWh during 731 days was its result. In this paper we will intend to investigate on condition of Neka and Amir Abad station in Caspian Sea with data which is prepared by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center and also with equations that is obtained from commissioning the prototype in addition to illustrating procedure of installing and commissioning of prototype. Achievements illustrate appropriate condition in Neka station in order to commissioning of Mighty whale due to appropriate wave parameter like period and high in that place. Also it is evaluated low the efficiency of the device in Amir Abad station.
