The purpose of this research is to analyze the wills of the martyrs of southern Khorasan (109 wills). This is an applied research and it intends to use the content analysis method to investigate the motivation of combatant to attend on the sacred defense front. In this paper, the causes and motivations of the combatants for presence on the front are segregated into three sections of religious, revolutionary, and nationality motives as the concepts of the research and have been analyzed. Religious motivations, with about 63.5 percent, is the biggest reason for the presence of combatant on the front, the revolutionary motives are the second rate with 33.5 percent and the national motives with 3 percent have been the smallest role in encouraging the combatants to attend on the sacred defense fronts. Finally, the three mentioned motivations are compared. In this aspect also, the motives of religious were the active motivations to persuade the combatant to attend the battlefields. With regard to the philosophy of the Islamic Revolution and its atmosphere that was governed in the Islamic society, it does not seem very difficult to understand this concept.
