A Criticism of Turki al-Binali's Article on Dissimilarity of ISIS and Kharijites
A study of Islamic history and normative conduct of the Kharijites reveals the fact that the Kharijites were the most rigid group of their time with erroneous beliefs about Islam, Quran and divine vicegerency. Separating from general Muslim public and indiscriminate killing Muslims are two main characteristics which the Kharijites and ISIS have in common. Never do the minor differences which the ISIS extremists point out to exempt themselves, differentiate them from the Kharijites. Like the Kharijites, ISIS maintains that the truth is its monopoly; considers those hostile to it as heretics and Islam's enemies; treat a city of Muslims as Dar al-Kufr i.e. house of infidels. In this study, keeping in view Turki al-Binali's article on dissimilarity between ISIS and the Kharijites, it becomes clear that Turki al-Binali's defenses are weak and baseless and that ISIS is very much characterized by the traits of the early Kharijites.
