Investigating the Qur’anic Bases of Mullah Said Nursi’s thought about Proximity

“Unity” is one of the most important teachings of Islam. According to many scholars, the realization of the unity of Islamic Ummah is the reason for the return of glory to them. Mullah Said Nursi, the Kurdish theologian from Turkey, is one of the contemporary reformers, who has important scientific endeavor in the field of unity. This article which is written in descriptive-analytic method attempts to discuss the great Qur’anic principles of this scientist in the context of unity by focusing on the well-known work of Nursi, “Risalah al-Nour”. According to the results of this research, the most important of these bases are: belief in God, following a unified leader, fidelity to Islamic ethics, and paying attention to understanding and Ijtihad.
