Assessment of groundwater quality of Shush country for drinking using GIS and geostatistics

Underground waters play an important role in the present location of Shush country, as well as in the continued survival in the future. Due to the fact that the quality of groundwater resources of the study area has not been evaluated so far, this study evaluated the quality of groundwater resources of this area. In this study, the parameters of sodium, chloride, sulfate, total soluble solids, acidity, magnesium and calcium as parameters of the quality index of resources contained in the World Health Organization's Guidebook were evaluated. For this purpose, after normalizing the data and plotting of this data, Using Kriging and Inverse Distance Weighting methods spatial variation map of these parameters were provided and the results of two methods were compared. The results showed that in all parameters the accurasy of the Kriging in estimating the values was highest. After mapping the spatial changes of these parameters, the maps were combined and the groundwater quality map of study area was prepared based on water quality standards for drinking. The results showed that 23.67% of the groundwater in the study area was in the optimum level and 15.29% had a quality level for drinking.
