National Culture Dimensions and World Bank Governance Indicators: International study in 74 nations worldwide

Given the various theories of national culture around the world and the impact of culture on legal systems, social norms, economic development and political communities, the impact of national culture dimensions on worldwide governance indicators is discussed in the paper. This study is Practical and classified as semi-experimental with regression approach. The society of this international study is all nations worldwide, thus 74 countries are selected as sample using non-random sampling method. The paper utilized six national culture dimensions of Hofstede et al. (2010) as explanatory variables. The institutions composite of six worldwide governance indicators from Kaufmann et al. (2010) in the World Bank is taken into account as a responsive variable of the paper. It is worth knowing that both studies are highly cited papers. The followings results have been achieved: Power distance has a significant and reverse relationship with institutions composite. Indeed, Individualism, long-term orientation and indulgence are significantly and positively related to the institutions composite. These findings are discussed subsequently.
