Abstract:
Purpose
The origin of many of the problems encountered in research in the field of knowledge and information science (such as non-applicability, repetition, and lack of innovation) relates to the uncertainty of research needs and priorities in this field. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to identify and categorize important research topics in knowledge and information science, and to measure their significance in order to determine research priorities in this field.
Method
The present research is a theoretical-practical type and a research method-analytical and survey method. The research population consists of faculty and doctoral students in the field of knowledge and information science in the universities of Tehran, kharazmi University, Al-Zahra University, Mashhad Ferdowsi University, Shiraz university, University of Esfahan and Shahid Chamran University in the academic year 2015-2016. Due to the limited research community (165 persons), a questionnaire was distributed among all the people in the distribution community (electronically and in person) and finally 112 questionnaires were collected (return rate 63%). For data analysis, inferential statistics (Friedman rank test) have been used.
Results
In order to identify of research priorities in knowledge and information science, the contents of this field and the opinion of the faculty of this field have been reviewed. The results of these studies identified 120 topics in the knowledge and information science that were divided into 22 general axes.
Conclusion
The results indicate that it has been influenced by the developments that have taken place in recent years in the field of knowledge and information science, including changing the title of the field and, to some extent, changing the syllabus and, consequently, the content of the field, the changes caused by The entry of technology into the field and the further movement of this field into interdiscipline have caused the current research community to focus on new and applied topics, future topics and issues related to information technology to traditional topics and theoretical topics for doing. Future research in this field will have a higher priority. Keywords:
