Sociological Factors Affecting the Institutionalization of Sport (Casestudy: Citizens of Tehran)

Today, health is one of the main pillars of sustainable development and an integral part of it. In other words, imagination of having a developed society without a healthy population is an illusion. Since Sport and especially sport for all, is the life expectancy of the population through health promotion, one of the indicators of human development can be seen in communities. This study is based on a survey approach to explain the impact of social variables (family, media and formal education) on the institutionalization of sport in the country. The citizens living in Tehran were as the population and 480 subjects were chosen randomly from the four metropolitan area. The data collected by means of questionnaires. The reliability and validity of the questionnaires were obtained through Cronbach's alpha coefficient threshold using the construct validity. The results revealed that there is a significant relationship between family and institutionalization of sport. Results of regression analysis showed that the family can be compared to the mass media and formal education. Also a stronger predictor of institutionalization of sport results showed solidarity 27 between the media and formal education, but there was no significant relationship with the institutionalization of sport.
