Investigation of the Relationship between Self-efficacy and Empowerment in Comparison with Job Performance among the State High school Female Teachers in Tehran
The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between self-efficiency and empowerment with job performance in female secondary school's teacher in Tehran. The research method was descriptive – correlational. The population consisted of the whole female high schools’ teachers nearly 9657 people in the academic year of 91-92. Of those, 380 teachers were selected as a sample using Cochrane formula. A multistage cluster sampling method was used in this study. The tools used in this research were: Spritzer Empowerment Questionnaire (1995) with 14 items, the Teachers’ Efficacy Questionnaire (Aschann - Moran and Volfvolk 2001) with 23 items and also a researcher-made job performance questionnaire (1389) with 25 items which their reliability were confirmed by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. To analyze the data, the descriptive statistics (mean, median, standard deviation, and variance and Pearson correlation) and inferential statistics (multivariate regression analysis) were used. The results showed that among empowerment dimensions, the effectiveness can predict the job performance with 0.36 coefficient of determination. Also, among self-efficiency factors, the involvement can predict the job performance with 0.52 coefficient of determination.
