The Role of Professional Ethics of Faculty Members in Organizational Transparency (Case Study: Imam Khomeini University)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between professional ethics and organizational transparency among faculty members. The research method was descriptive-correlation (regression analysis). The population of the study was all students of Imam Khomeini University. The sample was 353 of them that proportional stratified sampling was selected randomly. Massoudi's organizational transparency questionnaire (α = 0.85), Hosseini's professional ethics with reliability (α = 0.92) was used for data collection. For Validity of the instrument, content validity and construct validity were used. The results showed that the professional ethics from the viewpoint of students is moderate, while the organizational transparency is below the average level. The correlation obtained also indicates a positive correlation (r = 0.38) and a significant (sig: 0.0009) between professional ethics and organizational transparency. Also The results of multiple regression showed, that among the components of organizational transparency, honesty components (β = 0.124), compassion (β = 0.122), and justice (β = 0.129) had predictive capacity (with positive effect) on organizational transparency. ANOVA results showed that there is no significant difference between the status of professional ethics and organizational transparency in the faculties of Imam Khomeini University.
