developing the feasibility of telecommuting model considering the effect of employees' occupations through abstract job approach
Since the expansion of communication technology, telecommuting has gained attention from transportation planners as an approach in the field of demand management. In this research, the process of investigating the acceptability of telecommuting consists of successive steps. At the first step, telecommuting program is presented to particular organizations. Subsequently, the head employer evaluates the appropriateness of the program for employees. If he comes to the conclusion that the program will succeed and in case of employees' tendency to perform the program, the organization will attend the telecommuting program. The investigation of the feasibility of telecommuting is pivotal due to its influence on urban transportation. In this paper, the feasibility model of telecommuting is developed through Binary logit considering the role individuals working as employer/ 245 .)of both influential groups (employee and employer governmental organizations in the city of 7 employee participate in the survey who work in Tehran. The survey investigates the feasibility of telecommuting through abstract job approach regarding various factors and emphasizing the employees' occupations. The results reveal that telecommuting is more feasible for employees whose dependence on workplace is lower .compared to their colleagues.
