Investigation of Teachers Lived Experiences of Job Burnout: A Phenomenological Study

Abstract:
Phenomenon of Job Burnout is an inevitable part of professional life. There are many quantitative studies in this area, but few qualitative studies have investigated this problem. This study was conducted to investigate teachers' lived experiences of Job Burnout. This is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. In this study, 20 elementary school teachers were selected using Purposive sampling. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Smith’s method. After data analysis, 4 main themes and 16 sub-themes were extracted. It was revealed that in the definition of Job Burnout, examples, Sources, and Job Burnout relief strategies, there is a consistency between the teachers' lived experiences and background.
