Health status from the perspective of senior managers of Pars Special Economic-Energy Area
The comprehensive health plan of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, needs to be reviewed by top managers in the priority setting phase. The purpose of this study was to investigate the health challenges of staff and people living in the area and its solutions from the perspective of senior managers.
This is a qualitative study and the method of data gathering is semi-structured interviews with 40 senior district managers and holding a focus group discussion with governors and heads of health networks present in three cities of Asalouyeh, Kangan, and Jam. Data were collected in a structured manner and content analysis was performed.
According to the viewpoints of the managers, environmental problems, lack of facilities for health services, prevalence of chronic occupational diseases, depression, and addiction are important priorities of the comprehensive health plan. In addition, Creating fair health conditions for all residents and achieving top rankings in environmental and health indicators are some of the most desirable prospects for 1404. These prospects can be achieved by formation of the Health Council and its Secretariat, the participation of all stakeholders, the development of an annual operational plan that includes key and creative interventions, and the establishment of a primary health care system. Moreover, the criteria for organizing resources and manpower should be such that the transfer and changing the managers does not stop the implementation of the program.
Coordination and cooperation between key stakeholders, and the participation of indigenous, immigrant, and working residents, as well as support of local and national managers at the relevant ministries and establishing a survey system are the basic necessities for the committed implementation of the Sustainable Health Development Program in the region and the realization of its goals.
