Studying safety attitude and relation with safety performance among the operational staff in a cement industry in 2018
Risk perception and attitudes of employees to safety is one of the requirements for the Establishment of safety culture and access to a safer working environment. If the attitude of employees in safety can be improved and completed, their safety performance also improves. So, in order to achieve to an appropriate working environment, it is necessary to measure a personchr('39')s perception of safety. The current study aims to explore the relationship between attitudes and safety performance among employees of a cement industry.
the present study is descriptive sectional, which was conducted among employees of a cement industry in the south of the Iran and in 2018. Information required was collected through the attitude questionnaire and safety performance, and finally 130 questionnaires were completed. The data analysis was carried out through the SPSS software version 24 and the Kruskal–Wallistests and man Whitney and Spearman.
the mean safety attitude was determined by 3.85±0.28. According to this, there is no significant relationship between the level of safety attitude with age (P=0.32) and the degree of education (P=0.36) and Work experience (P=0.52) and accident numbers (P=0.47) and number of education (P=0.320). On the other hand, the safety attitude with safety performance showed a significant relation (P=0.278).
according to the results of the study and the significant relation between the attitude and performance of safety, it can be stated that Through planning to correct safety considerations, can take an important step in the safe operation of worker.
