Altmetric survey at the journal level: A Case Study in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities in the Sage Database in 2018

This study aims to investigate and analyze the altmetric indicators of journals in the field of "Social Sciences and Humanities" in the Sage Scientific Database, as well as examine the relationship between the altmetric indicators and the qualitative performance of journals in the Scopus database.
The study is applied research in terms of the purpose, including an analytical approach that uses Altmetrics quantitative indicators from "Altmetric Explorer" database and quality performance indicators of publications through "Scopus" and "Sage" database gathered in Excel at the journal level. Both descriptive and inferential statistics utilized to analyze data in SPSS software.
11.56 % of the surveyed journals, did not have altmetric attention Score. Just 3.26 % of the journals had altmetric coverage of 100%. Sub-field of Psychology and Counseling based on two quantitative indicators allocated significant contribution. Twitter was by far the most important social media (66.49%). There is a positive significant correlation between the altmetric coverage indicator and quality performance metrics, as well as mean altmetric score and quality performance metrics.
Conclustion: Higher quality journals in the field get more visibility via social media. Paying attention to this point is useful and applicable for researchers and policymakers in order to improve the quality performance of journals.
