The impact of police interaction with the public on drug distribution prevention management in Tehran
Due to the increase in the volume of drug detections and the decrease in the age of addiction to 20 years and the spread of drug-related crimes to 60% of all crimes, this study aims to "determine the impact of police interaction with people" In the prevention of drug distribution in the city of Tehran
This research is applied in terms of type, descriptive-survey in terms of method. The statistical population is 460 employees of Tehran Anti-Narcotics Police, of which 169 people have been selected as the sample size using cluster random sampling method. The data collection tool is a researcher-made questionnaire with 42 items. The validity of the research was calculated using the opinion of experts and the reliability of the research was calculated using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 93.8%.
The findings of this study show that the interaction of the police with the Basij youth is effective in expanding the hidden methods of intelligence to detect and combat drugs with an average of 8.06. Also, printing and distributing information brochures about the dangers of addiction for youth and adolescents and distributing it in the community with an average rank of 9.6 is effective.
The overall result of this research shows that the information, educational and cultural interaction of the police with the people is quite effective in managing the prevention of drug distribution, and this interaction should be continuous and should not be viewed cross-sectionally.
