Identifying soft and hard factors affecting on capability-based industrial master plan with system dynamics approach case study: Saipa Co.
The approach to developing strategy changed from situation based to resource based in resent years. The capability based strategy (in different industries) has appeared as a part of the master plan. The capability based industrial master plan insists on the importance of developing resources for companies to gaining competitive advantage. The present study seeks to detect soft and hard factors affecting capability based industrial master plan in Saipa Company. The research approach is qualitative. The literature review shows six main criteria influencing the vision development. Moreover, Delphi technique used to reach 31 sub criteria. To prioritizing criteria questionnaire were used to pair comparative methods and Super Decisions software used in this case. Finally, interviews with senior managers led to scenarios, capability and hard and soft factors (capability builder factors) including employees, process, infrastructure, service and equipment. Also the dynamic system approach (Vensim PLE , MAP SYS software) used in this study to detect the cause and effect relations between factors. The results shows that the employees have the most and process have the least effect on competitive advantage respectively. The finding of the study can be shown in the aspects of applying in Saipa Auto Industry Group, literature and using soft factors including employees, infrastructure, process and the hard factor including equipment into the dynamic modeling.
