Comparing the effectiveness of Iranian-Islamic Mindfulness Parenting with Positive Parenting on Emotional Self-Regulation and Mothers’ Self-Efficacy.
To improve healthy family relationships, it is important to use an educational program and early prevention for the family .The research aimed to investigate comparing the effectiveness of Iranian-Islamic Mindfulness Parenting with Positive Parenting on Self-Efficacy and Mothers’ Emotional Self-Regulation
The present study employed a pretest, posttest, and 45-day follow-up control group quasi-experimental research design. The statistical population included mothers and seventh grade high school students in Isfahan among whom 42 participants were selected by a non-random purposive sampling method from the high schools and assigned into three groups (two experimental groups and one control group). The experimental groups participated in mindfulness parenting training sessions with an Iranian-Islamic approach and positive parenting for ten 90-minute sessions. All three groups answered the Awareness to the self-efficacy Questionnaire (Dumka,1996) and the and Emotional Regulation (-Sieberer et al., 2010) in three pretest, posttest, and follow-up stages. A repeated measures ANOVA was used to analyze the data.
The findings showed that there was a difference between experimental groups and control group in terms of effectiveness on research variables (p <0.05). The method of mindful parenting with an Iranian-Islamic approach more effective on research variables than positive parenting.
Iranian-Islamic Mindfulness Parenting focuses more on self-awareness processes, boosting self-esteem, and accepting mothers than other parenting approaches.
