Investigating the degree of compatibility of the Structure and Features of the Islamic Sciences Thesauri with the Retrieval Thesauri
To determine and explain the degree of compatibility of the structure and characteristics of Islamic sciences thesauri with the retrieval thesauri based on standard ISO 25964.
The present study is applied in terms of purpose and survey-analytical research method. The data collection tool is a researcher-made checklist. The research population includes descriptors of Islamic science thesauri. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation and in inferential statistics section, one-sample t-test, Friedman test and Kolmokrov-Smirnov test with the help of SPSS software were used.
Based on the data, the highest rate of conformity with the standard was seen in the display manner with an average of 80.87%, followed by the depth of semantic relations with a total average of 70.00%, Proximity of terms in natural language with an average of 24.12%, the degree of concordance of non-preferred terms related to each preferred term (22.25%), Quantity and content of domain notes (19.87%), and The lowest level of conformity to the expressive part of the signs indicating relationships (19.37%).
The results showed that the Islamic Sciences thesauri were in high level of compliance with the standard of Retrieval thesauri. Based on the findings, there is a significant difference between the structure and characteristics of Islamic thesauri and retrieval thesauri.
