Elucidation of Specific Perceptions related to the Gender on the Basis of Allameh Tabatabaee’s Theory of Mental Understandings

Feminism initiated as a social and political movement with diverse incentives since the end of nineteenth century has been effective on the different epistemological domains. Perhaps, the most pivotal criticism of feminists is their objection towards the analysis of knowledge and its common criteria. They believe that independence of knowledge, wisdom and mentality of human from social conditions is totally rejected since the emotions and feelings of human are effective on wisdom and knowledge as well. One of the most significant social conditions effective on it is gender. The relativity mentioned by feminists in the feminine and masculine domain of knowledge is not accepted. Nevertheless, it seems that the dissimilarity of thought among men and women and even the epistemological relativity among them can be revealed in another way. The author of this article believes that the difference of thought can be clarified through Allameh Tabatabaee’s theory known as “the theory of mental understandings” and this illumination truly covers the understanding differences among man and woman and it is without the consequences of feministic viewpoints and does not lead to epistemological relativity in factual understandings. To achieve this goal, it is shortly reviewed Allameh Tabatabaee’ theory of mental understandings as well as the meaning of gender in his view and finally, it is presented three modern explanations from specific understandings related to the gender based on this theory. In the first one, it has been utilized the agents of gender understandings, in the second one, the different gender emotions and in the third one, the parallel currents of nature.
