Analysis of Organizational Culture in Imam Sadiq (As) University from the View Point of Scientific Board Members and University Managers

Abstract:
Objectives

The prerequisite to address missions of the organization is compatible of organizational culture with the missions. Among the mission-oriented organizations is Imam Sadiq (as) University, which its mission is producing Islamic humanities. The non-fulfillment of the mission of this university shows there is Incompatibility between organizational culture and predetermined missions. Therefore, this research aims at investigating importance and performance of subcultures in Cameron and Quinn model.

Method

The research strategy was survey and the necessary information gathered using the standard questionnaire of organizational culture of Cameron and Quinn from a sample of 53 scientific and academic members and analyzed by Importance-Performance method.

Results

By data analysis, subcultures were prioritized in this way: Adhocracy culture, Clan, Market culture and Hierarchy culture.

Conclusion

The results of the research indicate that the University is a need for strengthening a culture of adhocracy.
