A review on Hofstede Culture’s Consequences study

Hofstede culture’s consequences study is the one of popular and valuable research about national culture and many research used it as their theoretical frameworks. Most researchers know Hofstede due to his studies about national culture. Hofstede's studies about culture have many contribution in the national culture area. Most research use his studies without considering its weakness and limitations. In other words, each theory is related to specific contexts or may have limitations. Researchers should be aware about such limitations then use theories. In this paper, we aim to do a review on Hofstede culture’s consequences study by using available literature. Firstly, we introduce Hofstede studies on national culture and compare it with Globe research. Secondly, we present limitation of Hofstede study by using literature. Our study shows that Hofsted study is being criticized for overlooking different dimensions of culture, generalization, etc. This paper is suitable for people who want know about Hofstede culture’s consequences study an going to use it.
