Comparison of the effectiveness of five-factor positive thinking skills with life skills on student’s self-esteem
The aim of this study was to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of five-factor positive thinking skills with life skills on female primary school student’s self-esteem. This research is experimental research with two groups design (experimental group & compare group) with pretest & posttest .Being selected through accessible sampling, the research included 28 students who were randomly categorized into two experimental groups (each group of 14 members).Each group completed the self-esteem inventory. Then one group received 10 sessions of education(each 60 minutes) five-factor positive thinking skills & another group received 10 sessions of education(each 60 minutes) life skills. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistics as frequency table and frequency percentage were used and multivariate analysis of covariance, also, was applied for inferential measurement. Data were analyzed by means of SPSS software 18 th version. Findings indicated that between two groups effectiveness of five-factor positive thinking skills & life skills in self-esteem (p>0/05) were not meaningfully different in posttest stage. So five-factor positive thinking skills was equally effective with life skills in increasing self-esteem.
