The effects of tourism on the developments of urban peripheral settlements (Case study: Izeh County)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of tourism on the developments of peripheral settlements as a case study, Koolfarah village in Izeh County. The research is descriptive-analytical and based on field studies using a questionnaire tools. The population of the village was 1189 people and the sample size was 290 people and the questionnaire was conducted in this village. The results of parametric test of means showed that more than 72.4% of people satisfied with the arrival of tourists in the village. Also, this test points to the increase in incomes with an average of 4.02 and the creation of job opportunities with an average of 3.91 are the most important reasons for the positive attitude of people towards tourism. Wilcoxon test indicates a significant difference in tourist arrival from Izeh city, province and neighboring provinces to the village, after the 90decade. Although, there is no difference for the index of increasing foreign tourist arrival. The result of one-sample t-test at a significance level of less than 0.05 showed that the highest social effect was related to the reduction of migration and population stabilization with an average of 3.89 and the increase of second homes in the village with an average of 3.83. The most economic impact at a significant level of less than 0.05 was related to the index of increasing job opportunities with an average of 3.98 and the expansion of service jobs with an average of 3.61. The index of urban brokers in the land debate with an average of 3.51 is one of the negative economic effects of tourism. The most physical effect of tourism in the village is related to the index of maintenance and restoration of historical monuments with an average of 4.13. With improving in tourism,
