Investigate the relationship between quality of work life and job stress of primary school teachers in Bahmaei (Iran)
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between quality of work life and job stress of primary school teachers in Bahmaei.
The research method was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population of the study was all primary teachers (N = 350) in Bahmaei city. The sample size of 200 teachers (male and female) was randomly selected based on the correlation formula between the two quantitative variables. Data collection method was a three-part questionnaire including: demographic characteristics, quality of work life questionnaire based on Walton model and standard job stress questionnaire of Osipow . For data analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient, multivariate regression, one-way analysis of variance, Scheffe test and independent t-test were used.
Data analysis showed that there was a significant inverse relationship between quality of work life and job stress of elementary teachers r = - 0.352. Among the components of quality of work life, fair payment . of, social fitness, general living space and development of individual abilities have the most impact on job stress, respectively.
Considering the relationship between quality of work life and job stress of primary school teachers, conducting similar research in other communities and provinces, performing researches on other factors affecting job stress and presenting a more general model of job stress and conducting similar researches in the education staff and results comparison are recommended.
