A linguistic critique on verbal sharing in Second Stage High school Arabic textbooks in Iran
New studies show particular attention to the linguistic phenomena which is a need for academia. Linguistic phenomena are as important as other areas in Arabic language (e.g. rhetoric, syntax, semantics etc.). This study focuses on linguistic and semantic phenomena dealing with the connection between words and meaning. To show the connection, examples of examples and evidence in Arabic textbooks of all majors in second stage of high school were taken into account. A table describing the statistics of the verbal commonalities was presented. The semantic phenomenon of verbal commonality addresses the start point of this issue from idiomatic and word perspective. Also, the semantic value and conceptualization of verbal commonality with a particular focus on theology and language was discussed in this study. Therefore, the scholars in theology were more careful about this issue. The final part of this study was devoted to some practical suggestions. This paper has two main sections: a) Introducing most of semantic sharing and b) practical examples of high schools’ Arabic textbooks. As this issue is important in textbook, most of teachers can use the content. Expressions signifying semantic sharing concept is multiple and vowels play a key role in this regard, yet the correct pronunciation is not taught. Teachers, however, can use tables and charts to teach semantic sharing in an easy and understandable manner.
