Effects of magnetic field on natural convection of Non-Newtownian fluid in a square enclosure with central heating sourc
In this study, the incompressible laminar flow of non-Newtownian fluid was studied with a central thermal source in a chamber for non-field conditions and the application of a uniform magnetic field under special angles. Using similarity transformations, the system of governing the flow equations is converted to a nonlinear ordinary differential equations and then solved by finite difference based numerical method. In the present study, the effect of non-Newtonian of the fluid with the power law model with a uniform external magnetic field was investigated for power index values n=0.75, 1 and 1.4 and the results were compared with the absence of a magnetic field. It was found that the consideration of the Newtonian and Non- Newtonian index for the power-law model fluid in the presence of the magnetic field could lead to different results. The results also show that the magnetic field tends to affect the displacement flow and leads to a decrease in these flows. In this study, for the Newtonian model of power-law model, the effect of magnetic field on the average Nusselt decreases.
