The geography of the presidential election of Iran with an eye on theSemnan province

Election are a symbol of and the most fundamental basis of democratic governments allover the world. Through elections people will either bestow power over the governors orwill deprive them of such a power. In this way, They will provide the governments withlegitimacy. Through the adoption of the right political policy during the elections, peoplewill determine the country's general policy for limited expansion of time.In this respect, the geography of elections, which is as significat branch of geographicaldomains, could be regarded as the basis of elections in three domains:local, regional andnational. In this way it could analyze, the election results in this domains.Although limited elections took place at local levels prior to the eslamic revolution,people's practical participation in decision- making were rare. After the eslamicrevolution, due to the political changes, elections were carried out at the local, regionaland national levels.Among these elections, the presidential election, through which peopleelect the second person in the system, carries a specific significance.This thesis unde the title of :" the geography of the presidential election of iran with aneye on the semnan province", has tried to provide solutions for the following threequestions : 1) Is there a relation between the iranian presidential elections and thegeographical regions of iran ? 2) Do the functions of the president with his spesificpolitical inclinations have any effect on the future elections? 3) Is the rate of people'sparticipations in elections and their ways of their decision – makinng a function of thewhole electoral procedures in iran?In this paper, which is an applied research , the writer has answered three questionsthrough the collection of data.
