Coherent Iraq and the National Security of the Islamic Republic of Iran
The Islamic Republic of Iran due to its geopolitical position and its Shiite –based system is in a condition where simultaneously the developments and movements of its environment can have the greatest impact on its national security. Since Iraq is the most important country in the region and the world for Iran in all political, security, economic, social and other fields, the future of this country can be the main issue of IRI's foreign and security policy. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate how does the integration of Iraq (As one of the future options for Iraq) can affect the national security of I.R. Iran? Theoretically, Lenore G. Martin’s interdisciplinary national security approach has been used to measure this issue. In terms of method, the Casual Method has been applied to understand the relationship between variables. The findings of this study indicate that the integrated Iraq, in which current pluralism prevails, has the least threats and the greatest opportunities for Iran's national security. However, the intensification of Arab ethnicity in Iraq is consistent with the emergence of new threats to Iran's national security and the emergence of Iraq as a threat to I.R. Iran.
