The Web-structure of Process and Ties of Epistemological Acts of Reason

The faculty of reason is the most important channel to the real world whose authority is beyond a shadow of doubt among Muslim intellectuals. The full refinement of acts of reason is one of the significant issues of Islamic epistemology that constitutes the infrastructure of logic and opens up new horizons to it. This is while the Islamic logic merely deals with the processes of “definition” and “reasoning”. Theoretically in their phrases, philosophers have studied many other acts of reason in producing knowledge. Practically, the process of producing knowledge and intellection might not be managed by merely definition and reasoning. The general methodology of sciences (the servant of sciences) is responsible to discuss the process of any number of acts of reason working in acquiring knowledge here, and to shed light on its path for knowledge-seekers. This essay has been written by a descriptive-interpretive method and library references. It tries to explain the framework, background, and position of acts of reason in the Islamic tradition of philosophy as per the induction of contemporary researchers. It also goes to study their structure and ties through rational analysis. Its aim is to pave the way for research for the neglected gates of methodology of science thus enriching the literature on methodology of producing Islamic sciences. The achievement is the introduction of new acts of reason and coining terms for them such as: the witnessing reason, the analytical reason, the descriptive reason, the critical reason, the semantic reason, and so on. The final result is the illustration of web-structure of rational processes presented in a form of a flowchart.
