Statistics and content analysis of crime prevention research findings

The purpose of the present study is to quantify the information produced and to identify their subjective tendencies in order to clarify that according to the Iranian-Islamic model, which areas of crime prevention have more information and which branches and subcategories have received less attention and need more attention. The present study is quantitative in approach and in terms of purpose. Content analysis was used to determine the thematic orientation of the articles. The research population is 7910 articles indexed in specialized databases in the field of crime prevention. Data gathering tool is a researcher-made checklist based on Iranian-Islamic crime prevention model. After identifying the topics of the articles, the degree of overlap of the articles with the Iranian-Islamic Model of Crime Prevention was measured and the topics that were the most and the least percent over time were identified.

In the field of crime prevention 557 journals are responsible for publishing articles in this field and about seventy percent of their researches are published in fifty core journals. He owns 18 journals, universities, and 28 centers and institutes. According to the findings of fifty journals with the highest number of articles, twenty journals are published by universities and government centers and 15 journals by universities and military and judicial centers. These findings highlight the strong role of universities and military and judicial centers in the prevention of crime during and after the crime.
