Abstract:
In Jungian analytical psychology, archetype refers to those forms of perception that have been inherited by a group from the distant past. According to Jung, archetypes are in the collective subconscious, and one way to identify and analyze them is to refer to one's art, myths, religion, or dreams. The myth and legend of Shamaran (half human-half snake) is one of the types of oral literature heritage of Mokrian region in Kurdistan, which contains a large number of archetypes of this region. This research tries to identify and analyze these archetypes based on Jung's views and theories. In the present study, important archetypes such as "exemplary mother, wise old man, rebirth, anima and animus" in the story of Shamaran myth were identified and analyzed, and in the end it was concluded that the hero boy evolves and becomes an individual with his call and Shamaran help. And this narration originates from the collective subconscious of the people of Mokrian region, which shows the concern for the collective cognition and development of these people. The lack of study and analysis of this myth from the perspective of critics and researchers, necessitated this research. This research seeks to answer the question: which archetypes of the legend of Shamaran in this research have according to Jung's theory? This research is considered qualitative in nature and its data collection using library resources and field research through observation is an objective interview and the research method is descriptive and analytical.
