effect of 8 weeks of aerobic exercise with grape seed extract on heart Bax and Bcl2 gene expression myocardial infarction model in rats
The use of exercise and herbal supplements for the treatment of metabolic diseases and disorders among the population has increased. Grape seed extract is one of the richest sources of Anti-inflammatory and antioxidants. The Aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of aerobic exercise with grape seed extract on heart Bax and Bcl2 gene expression myocardial infarction model in rats
25 wistar rats were randomly selected in this experimental research, and one week after the induction of diabetes, they were divided into four groups of 5 rats. These groups include: 1) control, 2) , Strok, 3) Strok with exercise, 4) Strok with grape seed extract,5) Strok with grape seed extract and exercise. Groups 4 and 5 received 150mg grape seed extract by gavaged . Also, groups 3 and 5 AIT was performed with 7 intervals of each interval including 4 minutes with intensity of 80 to 90% Vo2max and 3 minutes with intensity of 65 to 75% Vo2max. In this study, Kolmogorov- Smirnov test, one way ANOVA and Tukey’s post- hoc tests were used for the statistical analysis of data (p≤0.05).
Aerobic training , grape seed extract and aerobic training with consumption of grape seed extract, had a significant effect on the reduction of heart Bax gene expression (p≤0.05). Furthermore, Aerobic training , grape seed extract and aerobic training with consumption of grape seed extract, had a significant effect on the increase of heart Bcl2 gene expression (p≤0.05).
It seems that aerobic training along with the use of grape seed extract has more favorable effects on improving Bax and Bcl2 gene expression levels than the either one alone in heart strok.
