Predicting Organizational Commitment of Nurses of Imam Khomeini Hospital in Mahabad Based on Components of Professional Ethics and Job Stress in Corona Pandemic
Organizational commitment is one of the important factors facing employees in critical situations. The purpose of this study was to predict the organizational commitment of nurses at Imam Khomeini Hospital in Mahabad based on the components of professional ethics and job stress in the Corona pandemic.
The present study is descriptive-correlational. The statistical population was all nurses of Imam Khomeini Hospital in Mahabad in 2020. The Participants people were selected by simple random sampling method (140). The research instruments include three standard questionnaires of organizational commitment Alan Meyer (1991), Cadozier Professional Ethics Questionnaire (2002) and Philip Al Rice (1999) Job Stress Questionnaire. Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation test and regression using SPSS 19 software.
Based on the results of the study, the correlation coefficient between professional ethics and organizational commitment was positive and significant (P= 0.001). The correlation coefficient between job stress and organizational commitment was negative and significant (P= 0.001). The value of standardized regression coefficient (Beta) was obtained for professional ethics (P <0.01, β = 0.639) and job stress (P <0.01, β = -0.338).
According to the findings, there was a direct relationship between professional ethics and organizational commitment and between job stress and nurseschr('39') organizational commitment. It indicates that professional ethics in a positive way and job stress in a negative and significant way predicts the organizational commitment of nurses. Therefore, in order to increase the organizational commitment of the nurses of Imam Khomeini Hospital in Mahabad in the corona pandemic, it is recommended to consider measures to observe ethical principles and reduce their job stress.
