The relationship between religious orientation and corona anxiety in Shahrekord University students
Corona anxiety is an emerging phenomenon that has affected the mental health of humans with the outbreak of corona disease The ambiguity and unknownness of this disease causes fear and anxiety in humans Religious orientation refers to the value beliefs, beliefs, ethics, and the type of human view of oneself and the world, which are divided into two categories, internal and external People with an external religious orientation use religion to achieve their goals and personal interests and consider it as a step to achieve their positions and social status. People with an internal religious orientation live with their religion. In fact, religion is a goal for them, not a means to an end. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between corona anxiety and religious orientation in Shahrekord University students. The method of the present study was descriptive and correlational. 103 people were selected as the research sample by convenience sampling method. The instruments used in this study were Allport Religious Orientation Questionnaire and Corona Anxiety Scale. Data analysis with Spearman correlation showed that there is a direct relationship between external religious orientation and corona anxiety and an inverse relationship between internal religious orientation and corona anxiety. The results of the study indicate the important role of religious orientation on corona anxiety in students and indicate the effect of internal religious orientation on reducing corona anxiety.
