Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of emotion-based therapy on hope and interpersonal trust in divorced women in Shahrekord. The statistical population of the study consisted of all divorced women referring to welfare centers in Shahrekord in 1396. The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design and follow-up with control group. For this purpose, 28 divorced women referred to welfare centers were selected by convenience sampling and randomly assigned into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received emotion-based therapy in 8 sessions of one and a half hours for two months, while the control group did not receive this intervention. Then the post-test and after one month follow up were performed on both groups. The instruments used were Miller Future Hope Questionnaire (1988) and Ram Paul & Holmes Interpersonal Trust Questionnaire (1986). Data analysis was performed by SPSS software using descriptive statistics and covariance analysis. The results showed that emotion-based therapy training was effective on hope, futures and interpersonal trust in divorced women and the effect of this method remained stable after one month (p <0.05). Emotional therapy training leads to improved interpersonal confidence and hope for divorced women in Shahrekord post-test and follow-up.
