The relationship between the use of virtual social networks and tendency to opposite sexin high school female students Shahrekord city
In the Iran society, the collision between traditional and modern valueshas been createdtransformationin attitudes and behaviors of peoples, especially adolescent girls. The purpose of the present paper is to study the relationship between the use of virtual social networks and tendency to opposite sexin high school female students Shahrekord city. This paper has been done by using survey method. Its statistical society included all the female students of high school in Shahrekord city that were educated in academic Year 93-94. 390 of the students were selected by using the multistage cluster method. Then, they were interviewed. The validity of the tool is established by using content method. The high Cronbach's alpha coefficients for variables showed reliability of the tool in this study. In order to analysis data, the Pearson correlation and hierarchical regression tests were used. The Pearson correlation test showed that there is a meaningful relationship between tendency to opposite sexin high school students and the use of virtual social networks. The results of the hierarchical regression test showed that the social/demographic variables (age, time period of membership in networks, usage amount of internet) explained 8/7% ofvariance of the research variable (Tendency to opposite sex). Moreover, tendency to virtual social networks explained 10/6% of variance of the research variable.
