Abstract:

This article aims to examine the sociology of gender jokes exchanged on the social network of telegram (with emphasis on telegram jokes in 97) and aims to answer the following questions: What issues does gender jokes address for men and women? What social and power messages do these jokes contain? Appropriate categories were selected and analyzed to answer these questions using a combined approach and a review of previous research. This study uses content analysis method to study the content of jokes and its statistical population is jokes exchanged on the social network of telegram. The results of this study show that society's expectation of gender roles represents an ideal and traditional image that is far from the characteristics observed in the content of jokes. It can also be argued from the findings of this study that the traces of power and status inequality in the real world have been extended even to the jokes and content of jokes, so that men have even more power than women in jokes..
