Comparative analysis of the physical and metaphysical value orientation among the citizens in Oshnavieh with an emphasis on generational differences

This research is a comparative analysis of the physical and metaphysical value orientation among the citizens in Oshnavieh with an emphasis on generational differences. Statistical population was 27135 people and the sample size is 385 people according to Cochran formula. The research method is survey and data collected through a questionnaire. Cronbach's alpha was used to assess the reliability of measurement instruments. The results show that, there is no generational difference between religiosity and orientation of two generations in terms of cultural capital, but there is a generational difference between the generations, in terms of use and influence of the mass media. Value orientation of two generations is also different based on educational practices, the amount of security feeling and the type of socio-economic base.
