Analysis of the role of tourism industry in the development of Ilam province and codification a development strategy based on the tourism sector

The tourism industry, as one of the most diverse and largest industries in the world, is the most important source of income and job creation for many countries in the world. This industry, which is called as the engine of development, due to its economic importance, Social is receiving more and more attention and governments care about it, and today it is one of the main and solid foundations of the world economy, including one of the most important industries with rapid growth in world economic development, which creates the highest amount of added value to It can directly and indirectly affect other economic and cultural activities. Therefore, this study was designed to investigate the impact of tourism industry on the development of Ilam province using hierarchical analysis methods and SWOT. . The results of this study from the perspective of the elites indicate that the tourism industry has not been able to have a significant impact on the economic components of development, while the share of this industry in the socio-cultural components has been more important. According to SWOT analysis, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of development have been identified based on this section and finally competitive strategy has been introduced as the final strategy from the point of view of the elites.
