Effects of the rules and regulation updating for classification of surface ship on the structural design process
Today, international rules and regulation use for structural design of vessels in the many ship designs. relations of these rules and regulation are based on experimental and analytical data. Select of suitable standard for the different type of vessel is the important part of the ship design. BUREAU VERITAS (BV) is the one of the appropriate standards for the Displacement-Mode steel vessel classification. The in-house program are developed for steel vessel design, based on BV standard. time, cost and fault reduction in design are resulting of this progam application in the ship design process. in this research, Update of BV 2011 structural relations to 2020have been studied. effect of this updating on structural design have been shown in two steel vessels design as case study. Results of studiy shown the improvement of safty factor in the structural design of ship hull to obtain the optimum design.
