An Analysis of the impacts of macro economical variables on theft in East Azerbaijan Province
Crime in society has been negative phenomenon that is resulting from a series of shortcomings in society and also imposes economic, social and human costs to society. Therefore, the intellectuals and scholars and experts in the community intended to make a solution to solve this problem. In this study it has been tried by using ARDL econometric methods investigate the effects of macroeconomic variables on robbery in East Azerbaijan province in the period of 2001-2013. The results reveal that urbanization, the Gini coefficient and the unemployment rate have positive impacts on the occurrence of robbery in Azerbaijan and also industrialization has a significant and negative effect on the robbery. Notable point in reviewing the results is that urbanization variable in both models has the greatest impact and unemployment variables and the Gini coefficient are in the next rank.
