An investigation on the relationship between people's awareness of police duties and disciplinary prevention of crime among citizens of Tabriz

Due to its widespread interactions with people and social communities, police force gains important social and moral supports in setting social security. The present study aimed at investigating the relationship between people's awareness of police duties and disciplinary prevention of crime among citizens of Tabriz. Research method was survey and data collecting instrument was questionnaire. Statistical population was Tabriz citizens in 1393 among which 150 people were selected based on Cochran formula and using random sampling at police station. Results revealed a positive relationship between people's awareness of police duties and disciplinary prevention of crime. Although age, gender, and marital status factors did not make a significant difference in the awareness, educational level made a significant difference.
