Abstract:

This research examined the impact of neighborly relations on the level of social security in Tabriz. In this study, the theories of security and neighborly relations were used. Research method was survey and Statistical population of research was all over 15 years old citizens. The sampling method is a multistage cluster sampling and measurement instrument was questionnaire. The sample size of 400 was estimated through Cochran formula. The results indicated that sense of security among citizens was relatively high level and was affected by neighborly relations. Therefore, in areas with a greater depth, dependency and satisfaction of relationships, social security increases. Also the impact of sense of ownership, household size, marital status, socio-economic status and years of residence in the neighborhood were significant with a sense of security and neighborly relations.Finally we can say that neighborly relations through the creation of social ties and social order operate as a control mechanism and by monitoring the actions of other people decline the crime rate and helps to increasing sense of security in neighborhoods and communities.
