Investigating the relationship between social capital and crime prevention in Bushehr city (with emphasis on public education)

The purpose of this study is to identify a significant relationship between social capital of Bushehr citizens and crime prevention. Relations between crimes and social deviations with social capital have been posed differently by theorists.

The research method is descriptive and survey type. The questionnaire has been used to collect information using descriptive and explanatory method and analyzes the data. The Cronbach's alpha value for research variables, ie, social capital and crime prevention, and their dimensions are higher than 0.70, which indicates the stability and reliability of the research tool. It should be noted that the statistical population of the study consisted of all citizens of Bushehr province, according to Morgan's table, with 384 people. In this research, Spearman correlation test was used to test the research hypotheses.Findings and outcomes: In general, the status of social capital and crime prevention is above 60% and is in a suitable and acceptable level in society. Of course, it can also be strengthened. Also, the results of inferential findings show that Spearman's correlation with the main hypothesis has shown that there is a significant statistical relation between the two variables of crime prevention and social capital and its dimensions among the citizens of Bushehr. The dimensions of social capital and prevention of crime have shown that social security feeling has the highest meaningful relationship and social participation is the lowest level of meaningful relationship with the prevention of Bushehr citizens' crimes.
