Abstract:
Prostitution has been a common phenomenon in human societies and the history of iran during the safavid era he was no exception. Limitations on moral abnormalities has made all the historical dimensions of this less social phenomenon to be recorded. However beyond the scattered information in the safavid historiography, most prostitute reports, presented in European travelogues. But that kind of information as well there are emotional and ethical reports of this social behavior. The purpose of this article is to make the following points, investigating the social life of prostitutes in the safavid ere. So the status of the prostitutes, pey attention to social behaviors and the kind of attitude of kings and kings and members of society with this group economic issues and related occupations and occupation, whores and even places their diseases have been taken into consideration. The findings of the study overcome the patriarchal view about the definition of prostitution and its limits it also shows the economic function of prostitutes in both the personal and the state.
