The Political Strategy for Iran and Saudi Arabia in the Second Wave of Islamic Awakening in Bahrain, Syria and Yemen
Iran and Saudi Arabia are two regional powers in West Asia that have long had ideological, cultural, political, and even economic rivalries. This rivalry, given that both countries claim to be the leaders of the Islamic world, has led to their differing views on regional order. The gap between the two countries widened after the domino unrest in the region. Iran and Saudi Arabia pursued two different strategies in their neighborhood policy toward developments in the Arab world and the Islamic Awakening, which produced different results in the regional order. The purpose of this article is to examine the neighborhood policy of Iran and Saudi Arabia in Bahrain, Syria and Yemen. This article seeks to answer the main question: What was the neighborhood policy of Iran and Saudi Arabia towards the Islamic Awakening and the developments in West Asia? This article has been written by qualitative method of documentary analysis and using library resources.
