The Role of Advertisement in Modern Media in Forming Smuggling in Iran and the Needed Solutions
Economics is the science of allocating rare resources to meet the infinite human needs. In other words, it is the human needs which lead to thinking, new idea, invention, production, distribution and ultimately consumption. Nowadays, with the expansion of communicative means, including satellites, internet sites, etc., the limitations of time and place have been broken. Consequently, manufacturers have started advertising their products, limitlessly, in the media in order to find markets for their products. Advertising goods which is usually done to present the good qualities of particular merchandise, creates a mental picture in the customers’ minds. They, consequently, expect to receive the merchandise with the same qualities presented in the advertisement. The majority of the goods imported into the country illegally, have such characteristics. Therefore, advertisement plays a crucial role in forming false needs which consequently leads to smuggling. The study intends to describe the nature of advertisement in the well-known media and its impact on the consumers and distributors, and consequently formation of smuggling.
